Are you too stressed to read a book on stress?

We are all busy, and the swirl of demands from work and home, combined with a 24-hour news cycle, causes unrelenting overwhelm, uncertainty, and STRESS.

Eliz Greene’s new book, Stress-Proof Your Life, is a guide for people who are dealing with unrelenting stress.  It teaches data-driven HARD skills to work and live well under pressure.

But the assessments, strategies, and tools in the book don’t work just sitting on your nightstand! (No judgement, we are very familiar with the well-intentioned stack of books!)

Together, let’s put a plan into action so you can feel better, stress less, and get more of the important stuff done.

Upcoming Workshops

Overcome Overwhelm

Implementation Workshop: April 22, 2021
Roundtable Happy Hour: April 29, 2021*

In our busy lives, we rarely stop to examine the swirl of demands for our time, energy, and attention.  Overwhelm makes us feel like we can’t keep up.  If everything is urgently important, nothing can be a priority.  What often is blamed on lack of organization or poor time management usually turns out to be overwhelm-induced confusion of urgency.

This workshop tames overwhelm though a series of exercises to:

  • Identify what is calling for your time, energy, and attention.
  • Determine the organization of your stress environment.
  • Evaluate the relative value of the items to supporting your vitality.
  • Intentionally reorder your environment using the stress ecology model.

Leadership and stress management in crisis and change keynote

Combat Uncertainty

Implementation Workshop: May 20, 2021
Roundtable Happy Hour: May 26, 2021*

In the face of crisis and change, capable people fly into action and solve problems. When the problem isn’t solvable or when we have to surrender to the idea of being helpless to change it, change and crisis hit highly capable people the hardest.

Ultimately, resilience is a choice. We choose to move forward in the face of failure, crisis, tragedy, pain, or life-altering (and business-altering) events we can’t control.

In this workshop, Eliz shares 4 essential decisions to:

  • Deal with the curse of capability.
  • Get comfortable with the emotional reaction to vulnerability.
  • Focus on what is possible rather than dwelling on what is difficult.
  • Strengthen your resilience muscle.

Offset Physical Damage

Implementation Workshop: June 17, 2021
Roundtable Happy Hour: June 24, 2021*

High cortisol levels eat away at physical health. Cortisol is the chemical your body releases when it senses stress. It is a natural, hardwired response. Prolonged stress, however, doesn’t allow your cortisol level to return to normal and can damage your health.

Processing cortisol out of your body is essential to feeling better and protecting your health.

This workshop demonstrates how to bring your cortisol down to normal levels so you can feel better by:

  • Evaluating the damage your stress is causing.
  • Exploring ways to signal your body to release cortisol.
  • Understanding how to motivate a change.
  • Practicing reduction strategies.

Stress Recovery

Implementation Workshop: July 22, 2021
Roundtable Happy Hour: July 29, 2021*

When we continue to think about a stressful situation or stay “revved up” about something, our cortisol level remains elevated. One of the frustrating symptoms of high cortisol levels caused by psychological stress is difficulty sleeping.

Shutting down the flow of cortisol allows your body to recover from stress. We all have different needs for distraction, contemplation, engagement, social interaction, and solitude when it comes to stress recovery. Understanding your personal needs is essential to choosing the activities most likely to allow you to disconnect and recover.

This workshop explores stress recovery through:

  • Identifying your stress recovery personality (are you a border collie or an iguana?).
  • Determining which stress recovery activities will be most effective.
  • Utilizing strategies to limit the impact of outside stressors.
  • Knowing when to seek help.
